City Park

The city of Scottsdale just opened a new park right by our house {relatively speaking...it's located by Reata Pass}. It's so nice to have somewhere to go to walk the dogs or just get outside. This park is so beautiful. It's very rustic and industrial looking, and it's located in a flood basin. Even the basketball courts would be under a foot of water in the 100-year flood at this place. I don't just know that because I'm smart...we talked to one of the park architects during our visit.

Flying the RC in the future wildflower field. Or possibly grass field...the city has not yet decided.

DT taking out the new airplane my parents gave him for his birthday.

The tiniest rascal in all the land.

Ra-dog was being camera shy, so here's a picture of her butt.

Off it goes. No crash landings!

Lots of raw, natural desert.

Huge, shaded jungle gym area. Playgrounds have sure come a long way since I was a kid.

Sport court.
Shawn, Elaine, and Ava met us on this early Sunday morning. We took the dogs on a short hike on the trail around the park. The weather was perfect. We can't wait to go back!

To maximize our time spent in the beautiful sunshine this weekend, DT and I followed up our morning with an afternoon {or half hour} at the Fountain Hills craft fair. I get bored easily, so we didn't last long, but I had fun people-watching and learning about some of the hiking trails in the McDowell Mountain preserve at the organization's booth.
